Sweet and sour chicken wings are a perfect solution for those who want a dish with a bit of everything. A little sweet, a little salty, a little spicy and a little sour! What is missing? The recipe, of course! If these characteristics are still not enough to cook chicken wings, here are other valid reasons:

The recipe for sweet and sour chicken wings

Custom dictates that the dish is eaten with the hands. A bit like the famous chips, chicken wings also offer their best when you lick your fingers. Here's how to prepare them perfectly!

Ingredients for sweet and sour chicken wings

  • 1 kg of chicken wings
  • 200g of ketchup
  • 3 sprigs of chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of Tabasco broth
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seed oil
  • 1 pinch of salt to adjust the balance between sweet and salty
  • ½ tablespoon of brown sugar

Sweet and sour chicken wings procedure

In a fairly large bowl, prepare the marinating sauce. Add, stirring occasionally all the ingredients: 200 g of ketchup, 2 broth spoons of soy sauce, 1 broth spoon of sesame seed oil, 2 broth spoons of Tabasco, 2 broth spoons of vinegar white wine, ½ tablespoon of brown sugar.

After creating a homogeneous mixture, add the chicken wings, taking care to cover them completely so as to evenly distribute the fragrant sauce. Cover the bowl with transparent paper and leave to rest for an hour in the refrigerator.

Then turn the oven on to 200°C. Once the temperature has been reached, place the chicken wings on the baking tray lined with baking paper and bake. Leave to cook for 35-40 minutes, the chicken wings will be ready when the outside turns golden and inviting.

Halfway through cooking, turn the wings to brown both sides. Remove from the oven, if you want to add flavour, toss with the sauce used for the marinade, add the parsley, sesame and bring to the table with vegetables, rice and oriental sauces to taste.
