Barbecue chicken skewers: lightness and taste
Chicken skewers are a lighter version than pork skewers but they have nothing to envy in terms of taste! In addition to having fun putting them together, perhaps adding some fruit or some different vegetables, our novelty in the online butcher's shop is the easy to go solution that is immediately ready to cook and enjoy. The recipe for grilled chicken skewers
BBQ chicken skewers ingredients
- 1 kg of chicken skewers (4 portions)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- chicken Rub 39 to taste
- salt to taste
- black or white pepper to taste
- lemon thyme or herbs to taste
- vegetables of your choice to grill as an accompaniment
Ingredients for DIY BBQ Sauce
- 200 ml of ketchup
- 70 ml of pineapple juice
- 2 teaspoons of lemon
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
Chicken skewers cooking procedure
We have two options for marinating: the light version or the BBQ master version. For the light version, start by soaking the skewers with extra virgin olive oil, lemon, salt, pepper and lemon juice and leave to marinate for at least half an hour.
For the BBQ master version, we recommend marinating and sprinkling the skewers with the tasty Chicken Rub 39 composed of: salt, cane sugar, black pepper, sweet paprika, coriander, turmeric, fennel, cumin, garlic, fenugreek, laurel, cloves and chilli pepper. Let the skewers rest for at least an hour and then move on to cooking. The result will be amazing.
To prepare the barbecue sauce, simply mix all the ingredients in a bowl: ketchup, pineapple juice, lemon juice, soy sauce, salt, pepper and brown sugar. The super fast version is ready!
Now that everything is ready, place the chicken skewers on the grill and if you want, brush with a little bit of barbecue sauce during cooking. Continue turning them until they are well cooked: the cooking time for BBQ chicken skewers varies from approx. 15 to 20 minutes.
