Ingredients (for 4 people)

  • 500g beef fillet, cut into strips
  • 1 red pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 white onion, cut into julienne strips
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 fresh chili pepper (optional), to taste
  • 2 cm fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine (or rice vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • Seed oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation of spicy beef

Marinade: In a bowl, mix the beef with the soy sauce, rice wine, cornstarch, grated ginger, salt and pepper. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Heat plenty of oil in a wok or wok-like pan. Add the marinated beef and cook over medium-high heat until golden brown. Drain and set aside.

In the same pan, add a little seed oil if necessary and fry the garlic, ginger and chopped chilli until fragrant.
