Who said that typical bruschetta - sorry crostini - must only be based on tomato, garlic and mozzarella? The recipes for crostini with cold cuts manage to give a lot of imagination in the kitchen and truly satisfy all palates - from the most gourmet to the less demanding -.

If we then think that with the beautiful (or hot) season the desire to prepare super quick but at the same time tasty and easy to share dishes also increases, croutons with cold cuts are right for us. In addition to a quick meal, crostini are perfect for a special appetizer before a healthy and good mixed meat grill: perfect for waiting but not for taking up space for the grilled meat. On these occasions, the bread can also be prepared directly on the grill while waiting for the embers to reach temperature: as they say, more birds with one stone?

Here are three proposals for crostini with cold cuts that are super tasty and easy to prepare; a super rustic one with croutons and sausage, a super classic one with the combination we all love, pears and cheese but with the addition of raw ham and a super gourmet version with roast pork and gorgonzola. All you have to do is choose and get cooking.

Crostini with sausage cream

Ingredients for 5 people

  • 10 slices Tuscan bread
  • 4 pork sausages
  • 3 tablespoons spreadable cheese of your choice
  • 3 teaspoons of parmesan cheese
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • Salt and Pepper To Taste
  • extra virgin olive oil to taste

Bread croutons with sausage procedure

We take the bread already cut into slices and spread some oil. Place on the grill, on an oiled pan or in the oven in the grill version and toast for 5 - 6 minutes.

While preparing the croutons, place the peeled sausage, spreadable cheese, parmesan, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well. Spread the cream on the toasted bread slices and put them back to cook for another 15 minutes. A sprinkling of parsley at the end and voilà.

Crostini with raw ham and pears

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 8 slices of bread of your choice
  • 8 slices of raw ham
  • 2 ripe pears
  • blue cheese or sweet gorgonzola to taste
  • extra virgin olive oil to taste

Ham and pear bruschetta procedure

We take the bread already cut into slices and spread oil on each side. Place the slices on the grill, on an oiled pan or in the oven in the grill version and let them toast for 5 - 6 minutes.

Using a mini immersion pimmer, we create the cream cheese. Cut the zola and pears into cubes and blend for a few minutes to create a thick cream. Let's keep some pear slices aside for the garnish.

Now make the croutons, place the feta and pear cream at the base of the bread, place 1-2 slices of raw ham and a slice of pear. Perfect!

Roasted pork and gorgonzola crostini

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 8 slices of baguette bread
  • 8 slices roasted pork tenderloin - sliced ​​cooked shoulder
  • homemade mayonnaise to taste
  • red fruit jam to taste
  • gorgonzola or buffalo blue to taste
  • extra virgin olive oil to taste

Ham and pear bruschetta procedure

We take the baguette already cut into slices and spread some oil on each side. Place the slices on the grill, on an oiled pan or in the oven in the grill version and let them toast for 5 - 6 minutes.

These crostini take longer to prepare because they involve the preparation and cooking of the roast pork, the shorter version involves the addition of a very strong and tasty pork salami such as a quality cooked shoulder.

Once the croutons are cooked, we spread the homemade mayonnaise on the bread, place a few slices of cooked shoulder or a nice thick slice of roast pork, spread a little bit of jam and put some flakes or cubes of blue cheese. Serve on a platter and enjoy.
